Sutherlin Police jailed a man on drug and weapon charges early Friday morning.

An SPD report said at approximately 3:30 a.m. officers contacted the 44-year-old at Ford’s Pond in the 400 block of Southeast Church Road. During the contact, the man was reportedly found to be in possession of a firearm and suspected illegal narcotics. He was taken into custody and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful delivery of a Schedule II controlled substance. The man was detained without bail.
