Roseburg Police jailed a man for failure to report as a sex offender on Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 7:50 a.m. officers contacted the 28-year-old in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard after a caller said a male transient was sleeping in front of the business. Officers learned that the man was a registered sex offender and had not updated his address within ten days of moving. Officers confirmed that the suspect had not stayed at his registered address since October 3rd of last year. A detainer was authorized for the new crime.

The man was taken into custody and transported to corrections. He was charged with failure to report and for a parole violation. Bail was set at $6,250.
