STATE POLICE ARREST OAKLAND MAN CARRYING PELLET GUN ON FREEWAY

Troopers with Oregon State Police arrested an Oakland man who was observed carrying and pointing a gun on an off ramp of Interstate Five in the Oakland area on Tuesday morning.

An OSP report said at approximately 11:45 a.m. a trooper saw the suspect aiming a long gun at passing vehicles. The situation led to a large response from a number of law enforcement agencies. The trooper eventually found the 48-year-old at a nearby residence and took him into custody.

The man was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and menacing. He was detained without bail. The report said as far as responding troopers know, the man did not fire the pellet gun. No injuries were reported.
