On Monday, officers with the Winston Police Department concluded a sexual solicitation investigation, which ended with the arrest of 62-year-old Gary Beebe, of Roseburg.

A WPD release said during the investigation allegedly initiated online contact with an undercover officer posing as a 30-year-old adult female and offered to pay $100 in exchange for sexual acts. Beebe reportedly negotiated the terms of the encounter and arranged a meeting. Beebe was taken into custody without incident, when he arrived from the meeting.

The investigation was part of the Winston Police Department’s ongoing efforts to proactively investigate crimes involving the exploitation of people.

Beebe was lodged in the Douglas County Jail.
