ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR WARRANT, PROHIBITED CAMPING

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a warrant and for a criminal count of prohibited camping early Tuesday morning.

An RPD report said just before 12:50 a.m. officers contacted the 67-year-old in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street because his camp was in violation of the time place and manner portion of the city’s camping ordinance. Officers checked the man for warrants and dispatch advised that there was a warrant out for his arrest from RPD. Dispatch confirmed the warrant. The man already had two prior convictions for prohibited camping with the last one occurring on January 26th.

The man was taken into custody and transported to corrections. Bail was set at $10,000.
