Just over 22 percent of ballots have been turned in for the Douglas County May Primary Election.
County Clerk Daniel Loomis said 22.26 percent, or 20,097 ballots, had been received as of late Friday afternoon. Lomis said that is 0.81 percent ahead of the participation rate for the same point in the previous 2022 May Primary Election.
Ballots must be cast no later than Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. Voters who take their ballot to the post office should ask staff to stamp their envelope with a hand-cancellation stamp. A ballot with a postmark after May 19th will not be counted. Loomis said voters can use one of the 15 official drop sites located around the county to turn their ballot in. A list of those locations is posted at: https://www.douglascountyor.gov/179/Official-Drop-Site-Locations
