Roseburg Police charged a woman with fourth-degree assault, following an incident on Friday night.

An RPD report said at 9:30 p.m. officers responded to a business in the 500 block of Southeast Stephens after a caller said there had been an assault. After an investigation, officers determined that the 70-year-old kicked the door to her hotel room while an employee was tossing a newly programming room key card into the room. The woman’s actions reportedly caused the door to slam shut on the victim’s finger, trapping it between the door and the door jamb. As a result, the victim suffered a deep laceration to his right index finger. The victim was later transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to corrections. Bail was set at $6,250.
