Roseburg Police jailed a man for warrants and charges on Thursday night.
An RPD report said shortly before 8:00 p.m. officers observed 51-year-old Rudy Baptiste driving in a parking lot in the 400 block of Northeast Hewitt Avenue. Officers had prior knowledge that Baptiste had a warrant for his arrest and that his license was suspended. The man was contacted and detained.
Officers also had recent information that the man was involved in narcotics. A drug detection K9 responded and alerted on the vehicle. Officers applied for and were granted a search warrant. During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly located 2.05 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Baptiste was charged with unlawful possession and distribution of methamphetamine, driving while suspended-misdemeanor and for the warrants. Bail was set at $2,500. The man was also cited for driving uninsured and failure of a previous violator to file.
