LETTER CARRIERS WITH “STAMP OUT HUNGER” FOOD DRIVE ON SATURDAY

May 8, 2026 3:05 a.m.

Local letter carriers invite residents to join them in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive this Saturday.

A release from the United Community Action Network Food Bank said it is the nation’s largest single-day food collection event.

Each year, the National Association of Letter Carriers partners with communities across the country to collect non-perishable food donations to support local families. Letter carriers from NALC branches, along with many rural post offices and contracted carriers throughout the county, will participate in this year’s efforts.

Residents are encouraged to place a bag of non-perishable food items by their mailbox early Saturday. Carriers will collect donations during their regular delivery routes.

All food collected will stay local and will be distributed through a member agency of the UCAN Food Bank Network.
