Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged theft from a store on Tuesday.
An RPD report said shortly after 10:30 p.m. officers contacted the 49-year-old after he allegedly stole a can of a beverage from a business in the 300 block of West Harvard Avenue. The suspect reportedly threatened to fight officers at the scene and refused to listen to commands. A taser was ultimately deployed.
The man was then taken into custody without further incident. A detainer was authorized by the man’s parole officer. The suspect was then cleared medically before he was transported to corrections. The man was charged with third-degree theft and a parole violation. Bail was set at $1,250.
