Roseburg Police jailed a woman following the theft of puppies on Tuesday night.
An RPD report said just after 8:40 p.m. officers contacted 36-year-old Kayla Jones in the 900 block of West Stanton Street. Jones had allegedly called Animal Control in regard to her finding seven puppies and their mother at a camp near her residence.
Officers responded to her residence due to a disturbance between her and a family member that was in relation to the puppies. Officers later received a report of the puppies being stolen from their owner. They contacted Jones who admitted to taking the puppies from the victim’s camp.
Jones was taken into custody, and all the dogs were returned to their owner. She was charged with eight counts of first-degree theft. Jones was released on Wednesday morning.
