A Roseburg man was jailed following a motor vehicle and elude incident on Monday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:15 a.m. male and female victims entered a store in the 4400 block of Old Highway 99 South in Green when they saw an unknown male, later identified as 30-year-old Micha Gannon, inside the male’s pickup. When confronted, Gannon allegedly pulled a snub-nosed revolver out of a coat pocket and pointed the gun at both victims. He reportedly told both to back up or he would shoot them. Both retreated back into the store.
Gannon fled the area in the victim’s pickup. The owner had left the truck unlocked with the keys inside the vehicle. Roseburg Police officers located the vehicle in the 500 block of Northeast Stephens Street near Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard and attempted to stop the pickup. The driver failed to yield and continued north on Stephens Street. Deputies in the area successfully deployed spike strips near the intersection of Stephens Street and Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard. The vehicle was largely blocked by traffic and stopped in the roadway. Gannon gave up and was detained without incident.
Gannon was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude police in a vehicle and two counts each of unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. He was detained without bail.
