Tuesday night, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team arrested a Myrtle Creek man on multiple drug and weapons charges.

A DINT release said detectives located 62-year-old William Pease parked in his vehicle on the side of the 1400 block of Booth Ranch Road in the Myrtle Creek area. DINT Commander Lieutenant Rick McArthur said detectives believed Pease to be in the area for the purpose of dealing large amounts of methamphetamine. McArthur said with help from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, detectives made contact with Pease.

A search of Pease’s vehicle, and the area right around it, led to the discovery of approximately 98 grams of suspected methamphetamine. McArthur said detectives also located a concealed firearm inside Pease’s vehicle. In addition to the firearm being illegally concealed, Pease is a prior convicted felon which prohibits him from possessing firearms.

Pease was charged with unlawful possession and delivery of methamphetamine, being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence, and a misdemeanor count of driving while suspended. Bail was set at $100,000.
