A Coquille man has been charged with second-degree murder, following a shooting early Monday.

A release from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office said North Coos 911 had received a call about a disturbance at a home near Highway 42 in Coquille. Deputies arrived and found that one person had been shot.

First responders secured the area and tried to help the victim, but 25-year-old Bryce Randall of Myrtle Point did not survive.

An investigation showed a conflict had led to shots being fired by 31-year-old George Jones, who was arrested and taken to jail later that morning.

No further information was released by the CCSO.
