Roseburg Police jailed a man on 17 charges, following a stolen vehicle incident on Tuesday.
An RPD report said shortly after 1:30 p.m. officers got behind a vehicle in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway and learned that the plate returned as stolen. Officers stopped the pickup and detained the driver, who identified himself as Peter Washovsky. The driver had no identification on him.
The vehicle also returned as stolen out of the Portland area. During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly located numerous fictious identifications with the man’s photograph, printers and photopaper, along with twelve grams of methamphetamine.
At corrections, the suspect was identified as 38-year-old Nikita Bykov of Portland. Officers found that the man had a warrant out for his arrest, out of Clackamas County. Bykov was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, a felony count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, seven counts of possession of fictitious identification, giving false information to a police officer and for the warrant. Bail was set at $1,000. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
