Oregon’s U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley has announced that he will hold his first town hall meetings of the year, with in-person community conversations in several counties, including Douglas, over the next few days.

The eight events kick-off Merkley’s 2026 town hall tour of Oregon, as he plans to hold a community conversation in each of the state’s thirty-six counties.

Merkley said, “I’m looking forward to again visiting wonderful communities all over our state. By talking directly to folks in each county my team and I can go to work for the interests and needs most important in each corner of our state”.

Since taking office in 2009, Senator Merkley has held an open town hall for each of the state’s counties every year.

Town halls will be held on Friday, January 9th, in Yamhill, Polk and Marion counties.

They will continue with a Douglas County Town Hall on Saturday, January 10th at the Southern Oregon Wine Institute on the campus of Umpqua Community College in Winchester. It will begin at 11:00 a.m. Town halls will also be held in Coos and Curry counties on Saturday.

Town halls will take place on Sunday, January 11th in Josephine and Jackson counties.
