Roseburg Public Works is offering leaf collection service through the end of December.

A city release said Public Works crews follow a cyclical, systematic route to help residents with leaf disposal and provide an effective cost-controlled program that helps keep leaves out of storm drains, creeks and rivers. Last year, Public Works picked up 880 cubic yards of leaves – equal to 88 standard dump truck loads.

Public Works Director Ryan Herinckx said, “The leaf pickup program helps keep the city street drains, as well as the storm pipe infrastructure, clean and functioning properly”.

Weekday leaf pickups began in the Laurelwood neighborhood, then moved west to the West Harvard Avenue area. From there, collections continue to move in a clockwise direction. The loop wraps up in the Mill-Pine historic district.

Each cycle through Roseburg’s neighborhoods takes about a month, depending on the quantity of leaves picked up. Residents can see pickup route updates on the Public Works Department’s leaf pickup page: https://www.cityofroseburg.org/departments/public-works/leaf-program. They can also call 492-6730.

The Public Works Department can also deliver leaves to those who need them. The minimum amount that will be delivered is about eight cubic yards, or roughly one load. Sign up to get leaves delivered or get more information at: pwd@roseburgor.gov.
