The Umpqua Valley Festival of Lights begins in less than a week.
Starting on Sunday, November 23rd, it’s the 33rd season for the fundraiser, which is organized by the Roseburg Rotary Club, and held at River Forks Park, northwest of Roseburg. More than 90 displays can be seen while driving through the park. This includes animated characters from Disney’s “Frozen”, the world’s largest nutcracker and more.
Opening week activities will include Thrive Umpqua’s “Bike the Lights Night” on Monday, November 24th, and Saving Grace Humane Society’s “Santa Paws Pack Walk”, on Tuesday, November 25th.
The Dutch Bros. Holiday Village returns Thursdays through Saturday evenings from December 5th through December 22nd inside Helleck Hall, which is next door to the park. Families will be able to meet Santa Claus for free, write a letter to the North Pole, and enjoy cookies, warm cider, coffee and hot chocolate. They can browse for souvenirs as well.
The Festival of Lights is open nightly at 5:30 p.m. It’s open until 9:00 p.m. Sundays through Thursday nights and stays open until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Admission is $10 per car.
The Umpqua Valley Festival of Lights is a fundraising project of the Roseburg Rotary Foundation. Proceeds go to scholarships for graduating seniors and Rotary projects in the area.
