The United Community Action Network Board of Directors has recently named Jordan Jungwirth as the organization’s new chief executive officer.
A UCAN release said Jungwirth has served as UCAN’s interim CEO since May and brings more than a decade of service to the organization and its mission to reduce poverty and strengthen communities across southern Oregon.
UCAN Board Chair Steve Loosley said, “Jordan has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision throughout his tenure with UCAN”. Loosely said, “His deep and relentless desire to serve our communities, commitment to innovation and people-centered approach make him the right person to lead the organization into its next chapter.
Jungwirth began his journey with UCAN in 2013 as an AmeriCorps member and has since held key leadership roles including AmeriCorps Program Manager, Director of Operations, Director of Housing & Supportive Services, Chief Operating Officer and Interim CEO.
Jungwirth said, “It’s an incredible honor to lead an organization as deeply rooted in service and community as UCAN”. Jungwirth said, “I look forward to continuing to work alongside UCAN’s dedicated staff, partners and volunteers to create solutions to poverty and improve lives in our community”.
As interim CEO, Jungwirth led a staff of more than 220 employees serving residents across Douglas, Josephine, Klamath and Lake counties with an annual operating budget exceeding $30 million. The release said he has worked closely with UCAN’s board to strengthen governance while expanding services that address the root causes of poverty.
Jungwirth serves on the board of directors for Peace at Home Advocacy Center, and Umpqua Valley Public Defender. More recently he joined the boards of Community Action Partnership of Oregon and the Douglas Public Health Network.
