HOYLE MAKE STATEMENT ON VOTING AGAINST GOVERNMENT FUNDING BILL

Late Wednesday, U.S. Representative Val Hoyle voted “no” on a bill to reopen the federal government.

A release said the legislation failed to address what she called, “the impending Republican health care crisis”. Hoyle said the Continuing Resolution does not extend the Affordable Care Act Enhanced Premium Tax Credits, which are set to expire at the end of this year. Hoyle claims that when combined with the Republican budget bill, 50,000 Oregonians in her district are facing skyrocketing health care premiums or are at risk of losing their health care altogether.

After the vote, Hoyle released a statement which said, “My position on the CR has been clear: the price of my vote is what is in the best interest of my district and that means extending the ACA Enhanced Premium Tax Credits to ensure that health care is affordable and accessable”.

Hoyle concluded, “What happened today was wrong. However, I know I’m on the right side of history and will continue to fight for the people of the Central and South Coast of Oregon”.
