The Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team made a meth, fentanyl and weapons arrest near downtown Roseburg on Wednesday.
DINT Commander Lieutenant Rick McArthur said detectives witnessed possible drug activity within the intersection of Northeast Odell Avenue and Northeast Caspar Avenue. At approximately 9:45 a.m. with assistance of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, detectives contacted 38-year-old Chet Evans of Myrtle Creek.
McArthur said Evans was detained and a search of him and his vehicle allegedly revealed approximately 3.5 grams of suspected fentanyl and a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue. Evans was also reportedly in possession of brass knuckles and an expandable baton. Evans is currently on felony probation and has multiple felony convictions.
McArthur said Evans was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on two counts of felon in possession of a restricted weapon, unlawful possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and a probation detainer out of Lane County.
After arraignment, Evans was detained on $1,500 bail.
