A driver got away after Sutherlin Police attempted a traffic stop on Wednesday night.

An SPD report said at 7:00 p.m. an officer attempted to stop a BMW for violating the speed limit on Highway 138W near the intersection with Rolling Ridge Road in the Oakland area. The driver failed to yield and fled at a high rate of speed. The officer eventually terminated the pursuit due to the speed.
