A pedestrian was hurt after being hit by an electric assisted bicycle on Tuesday morning.
A Roseburg Police report said at 11:10 a.m. a 30-year-old woman was riding her bike south on the path that parallels Interstate 5 near the Disc Golf Course off Northwest Stewart Park Drive. The victim was walking south with a group of friends on the path. The rider said she was traveling about 25 miles per hour when she came up on the group. The woman tried to go around the group, but her bike ended up striking a male victim.
The man hit suffered bruising and some road rash, and his cell phone was damaged in the collision. He was examined by medical personnel but refused treatment.
The woman was issued a city ordinance violation for regulations relating to recreational-type devices because she operated her bike in an unsafe manner on the multi-use path.
