A Sutherlin woman was jailed on the charge of 4th degree assault on Tuesday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 10:00 p.m. a deputy responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Kaylee Street in the Green District. A 45-year-old woman claimed that she had been choked by a victim. The woman had visible marks on her throat and a bruise on her neck.
The deputy contacted the victim, who had bite marks on his chest, arm and finger. The victim advised that the woman had called him a cheater before attacking him and biting him. He claimed to have grabbed the woman by the neck to prevent her from biting his again.
The woman was reportedly intoxicated and unable to recall the events in much detail. The victim’s story lined up with evidence inside the residence of the woman breaking things and throwing them at the victim. During the deputy’s investigation he determined that the woman was the primary aggressor, and she was arrested.
The woman was detained without bail. She was released on Wednesday.
