CANYONVILLE MAN HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING SINGLE-VEHICLE WRECK

A Canyonville man was hospitalized following a single-vehicle wreck on Friday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 8:50 p.m. a 25-year-old was driving his SUV north in the 9000 block of North Myrtle Road in the Myrtle Creek area. The driver lost control while failing to negotiate a turn. His vehicle slid off the road and struck two trees. The report said it was obvious while on the scene that the driver lost control due to excessive speed.

He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for hip pain. The vehicle was recovered by a towing company.
