In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Riverbend Live! has openings for kids to be part of this year’s summer musical.

“Seussical Jr”. will be performed at the Riverbend Park stage on July 25th and 26th. Rehearsals are taking place Mondays through Thursdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Winston Middle School.

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all the Dr. Seuss characters will spring to life onstage in what is being called a “Fantastical Musical Extravaganza”. Bart McHenry, Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts at Umpqua Community College is directing this year’s Youth Theatre production. Kids between 8 and 17 years old can have a fun summer experience learning more about acting and producing a play.
