Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident in the Lookingglass area on Sunday.

A DCSO report said at 12:00 p.m. a 62-year-old Winston man was driving northbound in the 9000 block of Lookingglass Road when he came around a curve and encountered a vehicle headed in the opposite direction that was partially in his lane. The man swerved to miss that vehicle, causing him to crash. His pickup went over the embankment, rolled, and came to rest in a pasture with the vehicle lying on the driver’s side.

Medics arrived and were able to get the driver out of the vehicle. The man claimed that he was not injured. The accident took out about 30 yards of fencing. A towing company recovered the pickup.
