A Sutherlin man was jailed following an injury crash on Sunday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 2:30 p.m. an SUV driven by 42-year-old Nicholas Knickerbocker left the roadway in the 2000 block of Eagle Valley Road in the Yoncalla area and crashed into the rear of a parked semi-truck. A passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle and suffered an unknown type of non-life-threatening injury. Knickerbocker provided no explanation as to why his vehicle left the roadway.
During this time, there was a nearby baseball game which led to several pedestrians being in the area. Knickerbocker was arrested and charged with driving while suspended-misdemeanor, reckless driving, second-degree criminal mischief and for a felony parole violation. He was detained without bail.
