Roseburg Police jailed a man for alleged harassment early Saturday.
An RPD report said at 1:45 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Northeast Cummins Street. A victim called 911 and said a man had climbed through a window on their residence, thrown a cup of water on her, and was “thrashing” the home.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the 35-year-old man left the scene in his pickup. The victim told officers that during the argument with the man, he had grabbed her by the throat, hit her in the face, spit in her face, and hit her in the leg with a small metal bracket, which he had thrown at her. Officers observed the victim’s shirt was soaking et, and that she had marks on her face and body, which were consistent with the majority of the physical contact she had stated that she was subjected to.
The man was contacted a short time later but denied that anything physical had happened between the two people. He was charged with harassment. Bail was set at $6,250.
