ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALL3GED THEFT/RESISTING ARREST

Roseburg Police jailed a man following an alleged theft incident on Sunday morning.

An RPD report said at 6:20 a.m. officers witnessed the 33-year-old fill a fountain drink cup with soda at a store in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson Street and walk out the front door without paying for it. The man reportedly resisted arrest and attempted to flee on foot. A taser was deployed and the man was eventually arrested.

He was charged with third-degree theft and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $7,500.
