ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR REPORTED ESCAPE, WEAPON INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported escape and weapon incident on Friday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 1:00 p.m. officers tried to contact 31-year-old Rolland Gardner at his camp on railroad property in the 2800 block of Northeast Stephens Street. Gardner allegedly immediately ran away, going to a nearby business where he hid in the bathroom until he was confronted by officers.

He was detained without further issue and officers were notified that he had a warrant for his arrest. Gardner also reportedly had brass knuckles concealed on his person. He was charged with a warrant, first-degree criminal trespass, third-degree escape and for carrying concealed weapons. Bail was set at $ 18,000.
