Covering coastal Douglas County:

Three teens were taken to the hospital following a single vehicle wreck on Sunday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:30 a.m. units responded to a crash notification at milepost 1.5 on South Smith Road in the Reedsport area. The juveniles, from Reedsport and Winchester Bay, were found sitting in the ditch suffering injuries sustained from the crash.

The report said the sedan had crashed off the roadway into a group of trees. The driver reported cornering too fast and the passenger tire catching the edge of the road. All three were transported to Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport via ambulance. A towing company responded to recover the vehicle.
