Roseburg Police cited a man for reckless driving on Thursday night.

An RPD report said at 11:45 p.m. officers witnessed an older sedan on Interstate Five northbound, speeding past numerous vehicles and tractor trailers near the Garden Valley Boulevard interchange. Radar clocked the vehicle at 102 miles per hour in a 60 mile per hour zone.

Officers stopped the driver and took him into custody. The 27-year-old from Olivehurst, California said he was speeding because he was enroute to Seaside, to accompany his family for a family members medical procedure. The man was also cited for not having an operator’s license and driving uninsured. He was released after the citation was issued.
