Roseburg Police jailed a man on 18 charges on Wednesday, in connection with a previous incident.
An RPD report said at 7:00 p.m. officers contacted 26-year-old Sean Brown at the Howard Johnson Motel in the 900 block of Northeast Stephens Street, regarding a case which allegedly took place on March 30th. During the incident, Brown reportedly broke into several vehicles at the Comfort Inn and the Hampton Inn, on Northwest Mulholland Drive, stealing several items from each vehicle.
Brown allegedly later used two separate credit cards, which he obtained from one of the vehicles, to purchase a cellphone at Walmart, in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. Brown was taken into custody. During a search of his person, officers reportedly located bag of suspected fentanyl in his pocket.
Brown was charged with two counts each of fraudulent use of a credit card, identity theft, and computer crimes, and four counts each of second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree theft and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle. He was cited for unlawful possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Brown was detained without bail.
