WOMEN’S GOLF NIGHT’S START JUNE 18TH

Woman can get back into the swing of things when Roseburg Parks and Recreation offers “Just for Fun” golf on Wednesday nights this summer – with mini-lessons offered for the first time this year.

A city release said regular participants will note that the recreational program is changing from Monday to Wednesday nights. Starting Wednesday, June 18th, Parks and Rec offers women five chances to play golf and make new friends every other week at Stewart Park Golf Course on Northwest Stewart Parkway.

This year, a golf course pro will offer group mini lessons at 5:00 p.m. each night with game play beginning at 5:30 p.m. No pre-registration is needed. Check in at the golf course by 4:50 p.m. to take the mini-lesson and by 5:20 p.m. to just play golf.

Roseburg Parks and Recreation Coordinator Tracy David said, “You must bring your own clubs, but you don’t have to be an expert golfer to come enjoy a round of golf”.

The release said the recreational program will mix ladies together in different groups each week so there are some opportunities to meet and play with others at the nine-hole golf course. Participants can be placed in a group or bring a foursome of women who golf together.

A $20 per night fee covers a greens fee, recreation fee, cart rental and min-lesson.
