LAKESIDE MAN JAILED AFTER STOLEN VEHICLE INCIDENTS

A Lakeside man was jailed after stolen vehicle incidents on Monday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at approximately 9:50 a.m. an employee of Loon Lake Lodge called dispatch and said there was a suspicious vehicle near the lodge in the 9000 block of Loon Lake Road. The vehicle returned stolen with cautions for a Clatskanie man who had reportedly taken a second vehicle at gun point. Deputies located both vehicles coming down Loon Lake Road.

The first stolen vehicle, a sedan, was stopped. It had the Lakeside man as the driver. Another deputy stopped the second stolen vehicle, a pickup. The sedan took off again and eluded deputies back up Loon Lake Road. The driver was eventually stopped near the lodge, without further incident. The Clatskanie man, identified as 21-year-old Tryton Labart was charged with attempting to elude police in a vehicle, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, and for a warrant. Labart was detained without bail. The other driver, a 48-year-old, was cited for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of methamphetamine and then was released.
