ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL TWO PEOPLE FOR CRIMINAL TRESPASS INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed two people for a criminal trespass incident on Monday.

An RPD report said at 8:15 a.m. a 51-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, were contacted because they were camping in a restricted area and on private property near Gaddis Park in the 800 block of Northwest Highland Street.

Their camp was surrounded by litter that extended into a nearby creek. The pair had previously been warned for trespassing at that location. Both were charged with second-degree criminal trespass, depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway and for a criminal count of prohibited camping. The woman was also charged with offensive littering and for a failure to appear warrant. The man was detained on $6,250 bail while the woman was held on $5,000 bail.
