A Jeep Cherokee which had gone into the North Umpqua River was spotted by a truck driver passing by on Tuesday morning.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said the vehicle accident was called in at 8:30 a.m.
The Jeep had left the 2800 block of Cavitt Creek Road near Glide and rolled down a steep 50-foot embankment into the river. The vehicle was not occupied. The owner was contacted and stated that the wreck had taken place Monday night at approximately 8:00 p.m. The driver didn’t know where the vehicle had ended up after going into the river.
