ROSEBURG POLICE CHARGE MAN WITH FOURTH-DEGREE ASSAULT

Roseburg Police charged a man with fourth-degree assault on Monday evening.

An RPD report said at 8:10 p.m. officers responded to the 2000 block of Northeast Stephens Street after a caller said that two people were involved in a disturbance.

Officers determined that a 48-year-old man had punched a victim several times, causing physical injuries. The suspect refused to come out of the home and speak to officers and made several threats towards them. The officers ultimately entered the residence and took the man into custody.

The man was detained on $6,250 bail.
