A Roseburg area man was jailed for alleged prior menacing incident on Monday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:10 a.m. multiple callers said that an intoxicated male was on Callahan Drive in the Green District and was possibly attempting to go inside someone else’s house. It was also reported that the man had been seen lying in the driveway of a residence.
Upon arrival in the 600 block of Callahan Drive, the deputy saw the man go back inside his own house. The deputy learned the man had threatened or menaced a victim with a knife. This allegedly occurred outside on either the sidewalk or street in front of the residence. The suspect had allegedly pulled out a pocketknife and deployed it at a victim while walking towards her and saying derogatory things. She was in fear for her safety.
The 38-year-old suspect was contacted later at records and said he wanted to turn himself in. He was taken into custody without incident. The man was charged for menacing and detained without bail.
