A Riddle woman was charged with fourth-degree assault, following an incident Monday afternoon.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 1:40 p.m. the 33-year-old was called in for a disturbance that was taking place at a residence in the 300 block of East First Avenue in Riddle. A deputy arrived at the location and was flagged down by a victim who was bleeding from his face and on his arms. The victim claimed the woman attacked him because he was trying to leave.
The victim said the woman had keys on her when she was hitting him and that is what likely caused his injuries. The suspect said the victim had punched her in the face and she was hitting him back. The deputy spoke with a witness who reported that the woman was the primary aggressor and that see could see the suspect hitting the victim.
The woman was detained without bail.
