Registration ends soon for the Family Friendly Employer Summit.

Presented by Business Champions for Kids, a program of the Douglas Education Service District, the event is aimed at employers of all sizes, human resources professionals, business leaders, working parents, community members and advocates.

It will be held on May 1st at Aviva Health, located on the Jerry Bruce Non-Profit Campus, just north of Roseburg from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

ESD Early Learning Program Facilitator Robin Van Winkle said the summit will be focused on:

*Fresh ideas, practical tools and networking that support working parents

*How family-friendly workplaces improve recruitment, retention and overall employee well-being

*The importance of early childhood development and how employers can play a role

Van Winkle said national and local speakers will address the topic of employees providing childcare at the worksite or providing assistance, or incentives to help retain workers by ensuring that they have access to childcare. Other related topics will be addressed as well.
