A pickup crashed down an embankment south of Winston on Thursday evening.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 5:20 p.m. a 29-year-old Roseburg man was driving in the area of Brockway Road and Kent Creek Road when a deer jumped out in the roadway and the driver swerved to miss the deer.  The driver crashed his vehicle into the guardrail, and it rolled down about 10 to 15 feet.

The driver was cooperative with law enforcement and there were no signs of impairment observed. A towing company responded to retrieve the pickup.
