Douglas County is shifting into the next stage of long-term recovery from the March 2025 flood event.
A county release said the board of commissioners and the Douglas County Emergency Management Department would like to thank the community for their continued resilience and collaboration as residents move forward.
Actions 4, 5 and 6 will provide critical tools for cleanup, repair and rebuilding:
Action #4 – Clean Up Safely & Prevent Mold:
Mold can cause serious health issues after a flood. Learn how to clean hard surfaces properly, identify unsalvageable materials, and find trusted local restoration services.
Action #5 – Explore Cash Incentives & Rebates:
Those who are replacing HVAC, insulation or water heaters may qualify for cash rebates through the Energy Trust of Oregon to offset the cost of energy-efficient upgrades after flood damage.
Action #6 – Need Insurance or Legal Help? Advocacy is available:
Residents who are struggling with a denied claim or legal questions can receive free legal aid and insurance advocacy to help them navigate their recovery with confidence.
