A Canyonville man was jailed Tuesday evening after a probable cause arrest.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 5:40 p.m. a deputy stopped 44-year-old Jessy Standridge in the 300 block of Main Street in Canyonville knowing another deputy had probable cause to detain him stemming from a stolen vehicle investigation.
Standridge had reportedly sold a victim’s vehicle to a towing/recycling company without permission. That led to the vehicle being destroyed. The man was taken into custody and reportedly found to be in possession of metal knuckles.
Standridge was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first-degree counts of theft by deception and criminal mischief, felon in possession of a restricted weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and trafficking in stolen vehicles. Standridge was detained without bail.
