Roseburg Police jailed a man following a traffic stop early Thursday.

An RPD report said 3:00 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 3100 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The driver had no identification and was detained for failure to carry and present. The driver gave a false name but was ultimately identified as a 39-year-old Winston man.

During a search of his vehicle, methamphetamine was reportedly located, and a search warrant was applied for.

The man was charged with providing false information to a police officer, and failure to carry and present an operator’s license. He was cited for failure to register a vehicle, operating without lights, no operators license and driving uninsured. The man was detained without bail.
