Two people were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 42, west of Tenmile on Friday morning.

An Oregon State Police report said troopers were dispatched to the crash shortly after 11:50 a.m. Preliminary investigation showed that a pickup was traveling eastbound when a westbound minivan drifted into the eastbound lane. The two vehicles struck head on, causing significant damage to both. The driver of the van, a 67-year-old Camas Valley woman, and a passenger in the pickup, were transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup was not injured. Both drivers made similar statements, saying the van had drifted into the eastbound lane and hit the pickup.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Tenmile Rural Fire District and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted OSP at the accident scene.
