Christmas Tree permits for the 2024 holiday season are available online through: Umpqua National Forest Christmas Tree Permit in Oregon – Recreation.gov, at Umpqua National Forest Ranger Stations, and through a number of local vendors.
A UNF release said customers can purchase up to five permits per household, at $5 each, through December 31st. These permits authorize purchasers to cut their own tree(s) on designated Forest Service lands. Maps identifying these areas, as well as additional rules and information, will be provided at the time of purchase.
Christmas tree tags offered on-line come with a $2.50 service fee that provides visitors an opportunity to purchase and print permits from the convenience of their own homes. This provides an alternative to in-person transactions that are completed at UNF Ranger Stations, that are open at varying times, depending on location.
