A Tri-City woman was jailed following an alleged menacing incident Tuesday night.
A Myrtle Creek Police report said just after 7:20 p.m. 45-year-old Ariel Keeley was called in as pointing a rifle as passing vehicles in the intersection of North Old Pacific Highway and Norton Lane. One driver said she almost crashed while ducking due to thinking she was about to be shot. Units from MCPD and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office saturated the area.
Keeley was eventually found behind a house in the 1200 block of North Old Pacific Highway. The woman was reportedly not compliant. Officers had to take her to the ground as she allegedly resisted being detained. Keeley was eventually taken into custody without further incident. Officers located the air rifle she was using in the yard at that residence. After being checked by medical personnel, she was taken to corrections.
Keeley was charged with menacing, reckless endangering, resisting arrest and for second-degree counts of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. She was detained without bail.
