A Winston man was jailed after reportedly resisting arrest on Tuesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 5:40 p.m. a deputy observed 45-year -old Jackie Willis walking briskly away from a vehicle near the intersection of Northwest Glenhart Avenue and Sherry Street when he saw that the deputy was approaching.

Willis returned with a bench warrant with numerous cautions including armed and dangerous. The suspect fled from the deputy going down Northwest Morgan Avenue, where he allegedly jumped several tall fences to avoid K9 Ozzy. A Winston Police officer saw Willis in the Pine Street Apartments, where he allegedly entered a stranger’s apartment before fleeing again.

He was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, two counts of second-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and for the warrant. He was cited for driving while suspended-misdemeanor, and for driving uninsured. Bail was set at $5,215.
